Insurance cover for benefits to crew members and their family

Wilhelmsen Ship Management (WSM) is pleased to introduce a range of insurance benefits for Crew Members and their immediate family in order to provide sense of security. WSM has assumed the obligation to provide the benefits described in this booklet to eligible Crew Members as long as such benefits remain insured by and for the benefit of WSM.

At Wilhelmsen Ship Management (WSM), we know that the quality of officers and crew are the most important factor in the management of a vessel. We care for our seafarers and want to give them a scheme that adds value to their and their dependants' lives.

General information

This insurance is arranged in addition to the Protection & Indemnity (P&I) Insurance for WSM's liability to Crew Members on Company duty at sea.

Please note that the insurance cover is limited to medical treatment in the respective Crew Member's country of residence. Hence, to protect yourself and your family in respect of accidents and illness when travelling or on vacation abroad, WSM recommends you to arrange your own travel insurance.

For the purpose of this insurance, the immediate family of the Crew Member includes spouse and children as stated in Beneficiary Form. The Crew Members are responsible for ensuring correct and up to date information in the Beneficiary Form in connection with signing of contract and as required during contract.
